Shipping Company in Singapore seeks Legal Counsel

My client is a listed shipping company which own and operate a sizeable fleet, serving the offshore marine, oil & gas industries.  They are now looking for legal counsel to come into their small legal team based in Tuas.  The work on offer is varied and interesting and presents an excellent opportunity for a corporate/commercial lawyer with no prior experience in the area to move into the shipping sector.

Key responsibilities will include:

- drafting charter contracts
- handling bids for work with oil companies
- drafting sale and purchase contracts
- handling the insurance portfolio for the company
- conduction contract negotiations for the company.

They are looking for someone with at least 2 years experience handling general commercial contracts.  Candidates qualfied in common-law jurisdictions are preferred.  Excellent English language skills are essential.  For this role, candidates should be based in Singapore as relocation will not be offered.
