The Dispute Resolution team of this International firm advise a range of corporate, government, regulated entities and other clients across a range of industry sectors including media and communications; energy; transport and infrastructure; agribusiness; service industries; financial services; and retail / industrial.

They seek a 3-4 Year PQE lawyer with exceptional experience in litigation and dispute resolution to join their dynamic team. This role has a particular regulatory focus and as such, you will be responsible for but not limited to, the following:

  • Delivering timely, quality and cost effective advice to clients on Part XIC of the Trade Practices Act and specific telecommunications industry issues, the interpretation and implementation of State legislation, and administrative law principles and The Freedom of Information Act.
  • Preparing submissions to the ACCC in relation to telecommunications access issues;
  • Preparing appeals to the Australian Competition Tribunal;
  • Preparing applications for judicial review in the Federal Court of Australia;
  • Preparing confidentiality arrangements in relation to telecommunications access disputes;
  • Developing arguments based on administrative law and economic issues;
  • Drafting witness statements;
  • Liaising with clients and managing client expectations;
  • Identifying and analysing the complex legal issues in respect of a matter;
  • Attending client meetings; and
  • Managing files.

To be successful you will have 3-4 years previous experience in a similar role working for a national, international or equivalent boutique firm within the Litigation and Dispute Resolution department.

Superior analytical, technical and interpersonal skills teamed with excellent drafting and effective file management skills are essential for this role. Candidates must have a strong academic background and academics must be accompanied by all applications.
