Our client is one of the largest privately owned energy businesses in the region and is now looking for a Legal Counsel to join the team.

This is a newly created position due to the business expansion plan and will report to the APAC General Counsel.  In the role you will manage sale and purchase contracts, shipping agreements and maritime arrangements across Hong Kong, Singapore and other regions to cope with business development.  You will also provide professional legal advice on Shipping & Marine related matters including insurance, litigation, disputes and others.

The successful candidate will have about 4-8 years experience of claims handling in P&I club and ideally have 4 years relevant working experience in Shipping / Marine stream. The successful candidate will also have excellent communication skills in both spoken & written English and a Putonghua speaker is preferred.
