Many US firms are starting to build up their practices from scratch and International firms are looking to bolster their existing platform. There is a real belief from many of our clients that the market will be very busy in litigation and arbitration next year. This is due to the continued inbound and outbound investment fromChina, due to this they are seeing an increased number of cross-broader disputes which will be happening in Hong Kong, the leading financial centre inAsia.
At present, we have opportunities in several top International and US firms. I would like to highlight two opportunities in leading international firms which are offering excellent options for more senior associates.
One firm is offering a leading commercial disputes practice, they cover all areas of commercial litigation including insurance, professional negligence, technology, shipping and financial services. You would be working across many partners who are very well established in the region. The role will be very client facing and you will expected to take a leading role on matters. This is a great platform to build a long term career and work for some very esteemed partners in the market.
The second firm is renowned for the top tier cross-border disputes they work on. They offer a senior associate clear career development going forwards. You would be given high levels of responsibility and work closely with some of the best known partners in the market. There is a lot of growth in this firm and they are well placed across Asia to tackle the biggest matters in the region. You will get exposure to the partner's very high profile clients who they have been working in partnership with for over a decade.
Both firms offer top International rates, competitive bonuses, 25+ annual leave, health and life insurance plus other benefits.
You must have:
v Strong academic background
v Worked for a leading International firm in their dispute resolution team for at least three years post qualification
v Have had high levels of responsibility and client exposure
v Mandarin language skills would be advantageous
For more information on these opportunities, the market in general or making a move in Hong Kong please get in touch with Maggie Kwok on +852 3975 2771 or maggiekwok@hydrogengroup.com. I would be really interested in speaking with anyone who is thinking of making a move in 2012, or who knows any strong litigators for these opportunities so we can keep in touch with you when the relevant positions come on the market.
I look forward to receiving your reply.
