Our client, a dynamic, progressive medium sized law firm located in the heart of the CBD has an opening for an Unsecured CAREER Collections Paralegal to join their Collections Team.
You will report to the Partners and Solicitors on a day to day basis and your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- drafting notices, demands and pleadings and general correspondence;
- telephone calls and general correspondence with clients and debtors to progress the recovery files (involves taking instructions and negotiating proposals with the debtors);
- dealing with settlement negotiations and enforcement of judgments;
- general management and running of files to meet client service level requirements and protect the client's interests in each file;
- preparation of fortnightly billing report for demands and checking of monthly bills before signoff;
- occasionally attending court for filing.
The successful candidate will need strong organisational skills and have the ability to take responsibility for the running of files. You must be a team player, be accurate and have excellent attention to detail.
It goes without saying you must have good communication skills and a friendly and courteous manner.
Prior debt recovery experience is preferable but not essential as training will be provided. Experience working with LEAP would be an advantage.
You may be in your first year studying law and looking to work in a very autonomous role within a supportive group environment.
