As yearend approaches, Legaljobscentre has seen an increase in the number of ads for private practice in insurance and risk management and in-house in the regulatory category. Overall, as at 2 November private practice listings are at 1413 – covering all 8 categories including corporate (332), banking & finance (207), litigation (163) and M&A (98).

There are 367 live in-house job listings on www.legaljobscentre.com  with the most to choose from in banking & finance (143), commercial (120) and corporate (112). The number of CVs for employers to search is also over 1000, having now reached 1071.

Legaljobscentre has also seen a dramatic increase in ‘passive looking’ the number of CVs posted by people currently working, but looking to change roles in the new year.

“A slight slowdown in activity is normal at this time of year as this is traditionally the time when people take leave. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t some great roles out there and new ads are being posted all the time. Now is the best time to be looking if you want to change jobs in the new year. We recommend that job seekers spend time getting their CVs in order, networking among their peers and get ready for interviews in early 2011,” said Justin Kennedy, sales director for Legljobscentre.
